Thomas M Griffith (Tom Sr) entered the insurance business in 1960 working in-office in various Philadelphia brokerage houses. Licensed as an agent in 1962, he established Thomas Morgan Griffith Insurance in 1976.

During the 1970's and early 1980's he also worked as a consultant to the American Baptist Churches USA establishing their church insurance program named TABIT which offered church insurance nationally to American Baptist Churches.

Tom's philosophy was to work with clients in a close personal service relationship, which resulted in high client retention and growth through referrals.

In 1988 Tom Jr. joined Tom Sr. in the agency as a new agent. On February 15, 2002, Tom Sr. passed away after a long battle with cancer. He will always be greatly missed. Tom's wife Doris (Tiz) lives in Upper Providence Township where they raised their three children, Sandy, Tom Jr, and Ben. Tom Sr was very active in community affairs and served on Upper Providence Township Council for many years. Tiz, who has also been active in the community, is on faculty and Athletic Director at Penn State Delaware County Campus.
